With its roots in the soil of Gelderland, OnePlanet is highly motivated to build a strong region. This is done by working closely with Gelderland companies and educational institutions and also by actively involving residents in its work. Especially if that happens at an early stage, researchers learn a lot about the motivation and needs of residents. By including that in the design of technological innovations, they can develop products that are affordable and widely accessible to all.

OpenEducation
In the OpenEd program, OnePlanet develops learning workshops, together with educational institutions and the field. Students from various courses and levels work in groups on digital issues from the fields of agriculture, food and health. For example, they investigate how a certain technology can improve the lives of those who need care, or how technology can make things easier for farmers.

SME collaborations
A sensor system that measures nitrogen across the province or a smart wearables-linked platform for digital health advice. Together, OnePlanet Research Center and Gelderland’s SMEs are developing feasible, scalable and affordable innovations. This provides new jobs for the region and opportunities for SMEs to invest in their own developments.
